Terra Ecology in partnership with a number of specialized institutes performs work in the field of environmental search, environmental audits and environmental monitoring.

Team of employees who perform work on the environment (mostly in the oil and gas fields), comprises mainly members of academic institutions: Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry SB RAS, Institute of Geology and Mineralogy SB RAS, Central Siberian Botanical Garden SB RAS, Institute of ecology and Systematics of Animals, Institute of Forest SB RAS. Involved in the work staff and branch institutes: the West Siberian Center for Environmental Pollution Monitoring, Hydrometeorological Institute. The main members of the community, involved in the execution of projects - 27 people, including 14 candidates and 3 doctors of science at work on mutually agreeable terms.

The main work related to the study environmental of research areas and control of chemical parameters of the areas.

Quantitative estimates for carrying out work related to the impact assessment on the environment including human is made an accredited and certified laboratories in Novosibirsk and Moscow, rapid analysis is performed independently in the survey area.

The research of general characteristics of the natural environment of a territory usually includes work with landscape character - geomorphologic survey, soil survey area and geobotanic and faunal work. As a rule, in addition to case notes of reports on the results of operations include the maps, typically 1:50,000-scale maps:
- landscape;
- geomorphologic;
- soil;
- the types of vegetation;
- the actual state of vegetation;
- state lands;
- population density model kinds of animals.

In some programs, is supposed to create the prediction and special maps - environmental risk and sustainable ecosystems.

Creating a series of thematic maps involves conducting full-scale works - a route survey (soil, geomorphologic, vegetation), the tab of key areas, landscape profiles, and the use of stock materials and remote sensing (aerial and space). Cards are provided to the customer on a solid basis, usually at the scale of 1:50,000, and in electronic format (MapInfo or ArcGis).

State of the animal population of the territory, as a rule, is set according to the literature in connection with the fact that in the main areas of work vertebrate fauna quite ordinary. Based on materials of geobotanical works is compiled data on state of lands. In a number of programs is conducted full-scale work on the census of groups of animals (rodents, waterfowl, fish, hunting animals and soil mesofauna).

Assessment of physico-chemical parameters of medium - a requirement of EP, EIA and engineering and environmental research. In this part of our work it includes the assessment of groundwater and surface water and their general characteristics, physical and chemical properties of soils, and the state of the atmospheric boundary layer.

State of the atmosphere is estimated in two ways - by direct sampling of air (through pumping sorbents) and by the snow survey and analysis of the chemical properties of melt water. The main purpose of assessment is to determine the average level of contamination that is the concentration of substances, including the background, in accordance with State standards and regional requirements.

Status of hydrological environment, soils is determined by sampling and analysis in the laboratory. A number of parameters usually are determined on site using the rapid methods and field laboratories.

In some works are performed sections of engineering and environmental studies for construction - radiological (emission of radon and gamma radiation) and physical factors (noise, electromagnetic). Geography of work performed by employees is fairly extensive - from the Trans-Urals (Little Sosva Reserve) to Lake Baikal (Baikal-Lena Park), but the work associated with assessing the state of the environment are concentrated mainly in the oil and gas regions of Western Siberia - Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area, Yamal-Nenets AO and the Tomsk region. The most southern parts of the work - North of the Novosibirsk region (basin of Tara, Ui and Cheque rivers, etc.), the most northern - Krasnoselkupsky District of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area (Hudosey river), Norilsk Industrial District (Lake Pyasino) Anadyrsky region of Chukotka region.

The greatest experience of work on sections of environmental protection, EIA estimates of the background state and environmental monitoring - in Surgut Polesie (the territory of OJSC "Surgutneftegas") and Siberian ridges (JSC "Gazprom Neft-Noyabrskneftegaz").
